DormBooks was started in May 2006 by two college freshman as a way to challenge the campus bookstore's monopoly on textbook sales. By offering higher buyback prices and lower selling prices, DormBooks was able to quickly win over students and teachers alike. What started out as a small dorm room operation has grown over the last eight semesters to include six more colleges and universities, serving thousands of college students and saving them tens of thousands of dollars each semester. DormBooks is unique because it hires student managers to plan and oversee the campus operations at each university. DormBooks is fully run by the students themselves, with all aspects of DormBooks operations geared towards providing the best possible prices and the most convenient service to all college students.
